FreedomPay HPP Plugin for BigCommerce
FreedomPay HPP Plugin for BigCommerce
The FreedomPay HPP Plugin for BigCommerce enables merchants to redirect customers to FreedomPay’s secure Hosted Payment Page to complete checkout.
With this method, no payment data is collected on the merchant’s site—customers are sent off-site to a PCI-certified environment, minimizing compliance burden and security risk.
The FreedomPay HPP Plugin for BigCommerce supports multiple payment types, tokenization for saved cards, and post-transaction actions like captures, refunds, and voids—all accessible from the BigCommerce admin panel.
This guide is specific to HPP (hosted payment page). For HPC (embedded iFrame), refer to the separate HPC Plugin for BigCommerce page or contact the FreedomPay Sales Team.

Overview: BigCommerce and HPP
BigCommerce is a leading cloud-based eCommerce platform designed to help businesses of all sizes build, manage, and grow online storefronts. It offers:
Product and inventory management
Order processing and customer tracking
Checkout and payment configuration
Marketing, tax, and shipping tools
Multi-channel selling (e.g., Amazon, Facebook, Instagram)
Custom storefronts using APIs or Stencil themes
BigCommerce supports third-party add-ons like the FreedomPay HPC Add-On to extend functionality—especially for merchants seeking secure, flexible payment integrations.
FreedomPay’s Hosted Payment Page (HPP) is a secure, redirect-based checkout solution that helps merchants offload the responsibility of collecting and securing sensitive payment information. Instead of capturing payment data on the merchant’s website, customers are redirected to a FreedomPay-hosted form to complete their transaction.
With HPP:
Customers are redirected to FreedomPay’s secure Hosted Payment Page to complete checkout
No payment data is entered or stored on the merchant’s site, minimizing PCI scope (SAQ A eligible)
Multiple payment methods are supported: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and more
Optional features like tokenization, 3DS, and Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) are available
Merchants can trigger Capture, Refund, and Void actions directly from the BigCommerce admin panel
HPP uses FreedomPay’s Freeway APIs for all post-transaction operations and system integration.
Together, BigCommerce and HPP deliver a secure, compliant, and flexible payment experience—ideal for merchants who prefer to offload checkout to a PCI-certified environment.
How BigCommerce Works with HPP
When installed and configured, the add-on:
Adds FreedomPay payment methods (Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, etc.) to the BigCommerce checkout
Redirects customers to FreedomPay’s secure Hosted Payment Page to complete payment
Routes payment data through FreedomPay, not BigCommerce, significantly reducing PCI scope
It also allows merchants to:
Choose which payment methods to offer
Enable optional features like tokenization, 3D Secure (3DS), and Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)
Trigger Capture, Refund, or Void operations directly from the BigCommerce admin panel
FreedomPay’s Freeway APIs power all administrative actions like refunds, captures, and voids.
Only the payment step is redirected through HPP—everything else in checkout (cart, shipping, tax, etc.) remains native to BigCommerce.
Benefits
HPP enhances your BigCommerce checkout with added security, flexibility and control, while reducing compliance effort.

Use Cases
Whether you're focused on reducing compliance risk or enabling more payment options, these use cases highlight where HPP delivers value in your BigCommerce store:
Merchants who prefer to offload payment collection can use HPP to redirect customers to a secure, PCI-certified environment for checkout.
Stores needing to meet PCI and 3DS requirements benefit from redirecting payment activity to FreedomPay’s Hosted Payment Page.
